Beware the Ides of Mach! According to Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar on the 15th of March Caesar was betrayed and murdered by his good friend Brutus. As he lay dying Caesar’s last words were “Et Tu, Brute?” (You also, Brutus?), which echoed his feelings of hurt and betrayal.
Avoid Caesar’s fate! Take time this week to appreciate friends and family, or at least pay them off with sweets and kind words. People do terrible things for money and power, but desserts can lighten the soul.
This week Blu Boy is featuring a special solid dark chocolate celebrating another famous historical event, St. Patrick’s Day! This holiday has been celebrated in Ireland for over a thousand years and marks the day a famous Irish priest died in 461 AD. Maewyn Succat, as he was originally named, used the iconic shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to the pre-Christian Irish people. Over time the holiday has come to symbolize the proud Irish culture and tradition and is celebrated around the globe, from the United States to Russia and Japan.
So whether you’re trying to stave off betrayal and murder or just looking to celebrate a little bit of Irish tradition, feel free to stop in and pay us a visit. May the luck of the Irish, not Caesar, but yours all this week!
