Of all holidays, I must admit I find my birthday to be the most exciting. I love presents and I am not ashamed to admit it. While not quite the same thing, but equally exciting, BLU Boy has turned 1.
August 13th marked one year of being in business. It came and went without much fanfare, which is never how I like to celebrate. So to make up for it this is what we are doing.
Saturday September 6th, 2008 beginning at 10am, BLU Boy is giving away one scoop of our house-made ice cream to each of the first 500 people who walk through our doors. We'll have a couple of our signature flavors available and plenty of help to make the wait short and worthwhile.
A little bit about our ice cream. We make it in small batches using egg yolks from Heartland Family Farm and a lot of cream. During the summer we use local berries and throughout the year all the honey we use comes from Hunter Honey Farm. It's crazy good (oh... and soon to be available at Bloomingfoods coop).
I can tell that it has been an amazing year! Congratulations and here's to many more. I wonder how many scoops I'd get if I travelled all the way from Barbados? :)
